We hope to eventually expand #SecondDraftSpring into a much bigger challenge similar to #FirstDraftFall, and we will have one public piece of programming in the form of a Writing Roundtable about revisions - I'm going to send out author invites TODAY 3/?
I faded out of #FirstDraftFall after Nov - made valuable progress even if my wordcounts were low, but had to re-evaluate... Having accepted this will be shorter than books 1 & 2, I've now set a new goal: if I can average 500 words a day I should be able to finish around 65k by end of Jan... 🤞🏻✍🏻📚 #WIP

Just like at the end of NaNoWriMo, the end of #FirstDraftFall marks the end of a high-pressure, time-based challenge and the motivation that challenge brought. Unlike NaNoWriMo, however, the #WeeknightWriters community doesn’t fade into silence a few days after the challenge ends. 3/8
#FirstDraftFall is exciting because you’ve set yourself a big, challenging goal, and you’ve done it alongside many other people embarking on similarly big, challenging goals. You’ve had that community to cheer you on, write alongside you, and celebrate your wins. 2/8
I did NaNoWriMo for 12 years. I had an incredible time every year–until a few days into December, when my excitement, motivation, and energy levels tanked. These “Post-NaNo Blues” were a common experience.

I'm using #FirstDraftFall event with my #WeeknightWriters group to rewrite the space opera. Only my characters remain the same.
Tonight's progress:
Draft: 2,231 words

Finished out #FirstDraftFall strong! The goal was 120,000, but I reached 166,933. Still working my way through #writecember, but I'm at halfway before the middle of the month, so the odds are good. The goal for November and December was 170,000 but that's going to get surpassed. I'm proud of myself!
