Krystyna Chojnowska-Liskiewicz (1936–2021), trailblazing Polish yacht captain who achieved the first female solo global circumnavigation in 1978 on Mazurek, earning her place as a maritime pioneer despite political overshadowing in later years. She was the third woman, first Pole & first European woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1978. In 1986, she became the first woman to summit K2, the second highest peak in the world.

The only quibble I had was the way the double ribbing joined the lacework but now I see that the pattern has been updated with single ribbing and it looks much nicer. Link in comments.

It's #Firsts week in #ShowMeYourKnits. This is the first jumper I knitted from my first handspun yarn from the neighbour's adorable Blue Texel sheep (and a bit of white from a Suffolk foster ewe he had). Wore it to shreds by now. Must either knit new sleeves or repurpose the body as a lap blanket.
