A "De Luxe" model of '20s Ica Icarette II folder camera, finished in brown leather.

Those brown leather "De Luxe"-models of certain folder cameras are absolutely beautiful ❤️.
I'm not 100% sure of which camera make this is, but my bet would be Ica Icarette II

You're correct. What we've settled on for #FolderWeek is that if it folds, it's a folder. Collapsible designs aren't considered folders as far as folder week is concerned. We've tried to be pretty open about what is considered a folder. Retinas, field cameras, SX70, etc. are included.

Ooh. It's a combined 6x6 and 6x4,5 camera, so good for #FolderWeek and #HalfFrame week, too.

We hold it the 4th week of Apr and Oct, starting on Sunday. Simply get out shooting a folder during the week and share when you can. Not a lot of rules. If it folds, it’s a folder. Use the #FolderWeek hashtag to your posts. If you search on that hashtag you’ll see photos from prior events.

Looks great! The perfect camera for #FolderWeek. An f/2.9 lens is the fastest I’ve seen on an old folder.

» Voigtlander Perkeo I Medium Format Film Folding Camera with 75mm F4.5 Lens

If you’re looking for a good 6x6 folder for the next #FolderWeek, my local shop, National Camera, has just listed a few EXC and VG condition Voigtlander Perkeo 1 cameras. Here’s a link to one of them. The price is fair. www.natcam.com/products/voi...

I look forward to what you continue to make with that Nettar 517/16. #FolderWeek is only a few months off.

Another retina 2a image from #folderweek this one on portra 800. I remember these being just normal trucks and now I feel like it’s a special day when I see such a cool antique. Feeling a little old tbh.

Plenty of time before the next #FolderWeek. 😉

Plenty of time to get this sorted before the next #FolderWeek!

You’ll be all set for the next #FolderWeek in the fourth week of April.

4/4: I haven't thought about pricing. The OM-4T was bargain rated from KEH. It works great but shows its use. The rest of the cameras would earn VG or Exc ratings. If you want a known, working folder for the next #FolderWeek, any of these would fit the bill. DM me if interested. Sorry, U.S. only.

We've chosen the fourth weeks of October and April as our dates for #FolderWeek, starting on Sunday. You can get plenty of practice in advance of the April Folder Week.

Voigtländer Inos I is the only folder camera I have ever experienced this effect: you can actually *hear* the air getting sucked between the body and the film while opening the bellows.
Explains why two of the frames were slightly out of focus.

It is usually suggested that you open the folder camera before advancing the film to avoid the negative pressure pulling the film out of shape. On most of my folders that is not an issue, so I normally advance the film beforehand.

A color photo looking down the row in a large greenhouse. In the foreground is a hand painted sign that reads “don’t compare her to sunshine and roses when she’s clearly orchids and moonlight”. In the background the photographers wonderful girlfriend browses, slightly out of focus.

Another trip to the plant store, another photo in the greenhouse. This time with my Retina 2a for #folderweek

Crossing the new Harbor Bridge, Corpus Christi, TX. October 25, 2025, around 2pm. Really folder week + 1, but I loaded the film during folder week...

Semi Leotax R 6x4.5 folding camera (1953), 75mm f/3.5 | Portra 160 | 1/50 at f/16 | dev/scan The Darkroom Lab | traditional treatment in LR/PS.

I was riding shotgun; this is cropped to 4x5 to remove the dashboard.

This shot reminds me how much I like the motion blur with leaf shutters. With a focal plane shutter at 1/50 sec, there would be artifacts.

You could scare cats and little children with this...

Is this #voigtländer Inos II (and its close relative Bessa E) the only self-erecting lens-on-rails folding camera model there is? I'd like to know whether there are any comparable designs.

Think I managed to reset Inos II infinity focus; only a test film can tell how close I really got.
Needed just to bend the shutter bracket a bit more, and remove a burr that prevented the base plate opening fully (was missing just 1-2°s from the full 90°)

As I feared, the infinty focus of the Inos II is way off the mark. The infinity focus point is now at about the 8m mark on the distance scale. I estimated that I'd need to move the shutter some ~1,5mm further away from the film plane...

Horseman 980 - A Seasonal Essay So I couldn't resist checking this out by buying a Horseman 980, which is a lot like a less expensive Linhof Technika

My sister and one of her granddaughters, during the weekend celebration of her 60th wedding anniversary. Corpus Christi, TX, October 26, 2025, around 11am.

Semi Leotax R 6x4.5 folder | Portra 160 | 1/25 at f/3.5 | dev/scan The Darkroom Lab | traditional treatment in LR/PS.

I don't remember whether this roll was expired, but there was a definite green cast on the entire roll that needed to be corrected. This shot was underexposed -- I wasn't going to try 1/10, and f/3.5 is all the lens would give me. I cropped for composition.

The biggest treatment: focus was not sharp on my sister's face. Not surprising with f/3.5 and zone focus! So I applied enough unsharp mask, selectively, in Photoshop to give some definition to the stripes and to her eyes; it made things acceptable for me (and I liked the expressions). No need for AI to patch thing up.

SEMI Leotax-R Folding Camera 6x45 | Portra 160 | 1/100 at f/8 | dev/scan The Darkroom Lab | traditional treatment in LR/PS

I was on the road between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. This was taken during Folder Week, then the roll sat on my desk for a month or so while I was distracted with other things.

I've been on lookout for older #Voigtländer folders for well over a year. Now, within a few weeks, two opportunities presented itself: good condition, reasonable price.

What should a man do? Buy them both!

Behold: '31 Voigtländer Inos I and '33 Voigtländer Inos II
