Summer 2019, somewhere between Germany and Switzerland. An exercise in layered realities and the 'frame within a frame'. By using the car mirror to isolate the geometric vineyards, the landscape becomes a contemplative backdrop reminiscent of Luigi Ghirri's emotional topographies. More than a self-portrait, it’s an 'anti-portrait': with the face hidden behind the lens, the identity of the subject merges completely with the act of observing. The photographer becomes the silent witness to a beautifully structured, pictorial landscape.
