Tonight’s Best #FrogID Song was won by Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog and his Loud Interrupting friend Tyler’s Tree Frog!
Lovely songs! Twinkle, the frog who lives with me, made a special point of yelling this morning to remind me of #FrogID Week 2025, just in case I unexpectedly find myself in Australia.
Australian Frog Calls - Subtropical East Nature Sound - David Stewart Image of a CD cover with green frog. After he ended sales of his CDs, David very kindly allowed QLD Frog Society to use his Australian Frog Calls recordings to sell in a new resource, not requiring any royalties from the proceeds.
Vale David Stewart - 1942-2025
Many people learned local frog calls by listening to David's frog call CD. For a long time, his recordings were the only resource. David was also well known for his bird call recordings & pioneering work in bioacoustics.

Outdoors on a black billboard a small car with orange and purple geometric patterns is displayed vertically, appearing to drive straight up the side of a building. The headlights of the car extend above end of the billboard into the dark sky above which is filled with the Sydney (Australia) central business district buildings. On the billboard the words "DRIVE THE NEWS YOUR OWN WAY. SCRATCH NEWS." and ”scratchnews.io" appear in white text on the left hand side of the car. The image is promoting Scratch News Australia and scratchnews.io website.

Glowing orange and purple sunset with tree silhouettes at the bottom. A single bird on powerlines is in the the center.
Lovely walk last evening. The sunset was spectacular. Did a couple of #FrogID recordings along the creek.
The bird on a wire is a Dollarbird Eurystomus orientalis.

Yes, we do! I'm only dabbling, taking photos of frogs I have in our bath pond and recording their calls for #FrogID
@koparjan.bsky.social Ken jij deze app van het Australian museum? Ik vind het een prachtige app bomvol info over Australische kikkers. En een prachtig voorbeeld van Citizenscience. Hij is er voor Android en IoS. #Frogid www.frogid.net.au
Any #frog experts out there?
New noise in the night garden. SEQ, suburbia.
Submitted to #FrogId but they're pretty busy.
Cute! 🐸
Do u use the #FrogID app?
Today was the last day of #FrogID Week 2024! 🐸 The frogs at our local wetlands heard the news and kindly helped by Singing Loudly! Southern Brown Tree Frogs and Eastern Dwarf Tree Frogs! 🐸🐸
Tonight we had the absolute privilege of attending a FrogID Night Walk with Dr Jodi Rowley at Manly Dam! Dr Rowley is the lead scientist and creator of the #FrogID app!! 🐸 We found lots of Common Eastern Froglets and some newly laid Striped Marsh Frog eggs! A big thank you to Dr Rowley!!
Some of the Gorgeous New Friends we met tonight at Greenhills Wetland recording frogs for FrogID Week! 🐸 There are only 3 more days of #FrogID Week left for this year!
This evening we have been recording frogs for #FrogID Week at Greenhills Wetland organised by Sutherland Shire Council Bushcare! We heard at least 4 species calling very loudly, including the Peron’s Tree Frog and a brand new species we haven’t seen before - the Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog! 🐸
We met these Beautiful Friends out and about in Sandringham tonight at the Frog Watch run by Friends of Native Wildlife during #FrogID Week! 🐸
A Spotted Marsh Frog, A Southern Brown Tree Frog and a Pobblebonk Frog!
Tonight we have been to Sandringham to record frogs for #FrogID Week! It was a bit chilly but we heard lots of Spotted Marsh Frogs, lots of Pobblebonk Frogs and one optimistic Peron’s Tree Frog!
#FrogIDWeek runs until this Sunday! 🐸
It’s #FrogID week and I feel blessed to have these monsters around home - this is a Giant Barred Frog (Mixophyes iteratus), the size of a generously proportioned Cane Toad. Size 10 shoe for scale!
A motorbike frog perches on the edge of a wet, dark grey plant pot. The frog is a bright green, with lighter green stripes and golden warts. A dark stripe runs from nose tip to flank, highlighting its rich golden eye.
Good morning to this frog.
🐸
This frog is a motorbike frog, Litoria moorei and responsible for a gentle nighttime soundtrack around my neighbourhood.
I'm at an #urbanBiodiversity monitoring workshop today, which is apt because it's also #FrogID week!
A great confluence of my interests ☺️🧪🌏
It's #FrogId week and after the storms here, the frogs in my ponds have been busy making more frogs*....get the app and get out there.
*They're not quiet about it. Deafening.
Tonight we attended a webinar with #FrogID Project Coordinator Nadiah Roslan! 🐸
We learnt about how FrogID data is used for scientific research, how FrogID captured the first recording of the Squelchy Fart Frog, & how FrogID has even helped to identify a new frog species near us! Thank you FrogID! 🐸
Dang, I misunderstood what #FrogID meant. I had glorious images of raging frogs released from the constraints of their superegos.
