Two strings of bright red, decorative paper lanterns are strung across a street, presumably to celebrate the Chinese new year. The lines are anchored to the first-storey window ledge of a mid-terrace townhouse. The building is built on a slope, opens directly to a footpath and faces an iron railing. The rendered facade is a magnolia colour and the doors and window frames have been painted laurel green, and the windows (one per floor) reduce in size and complexity as they rise up the building (20 panes, 12 panes, 6 panes).
