It's remarkable to see the entire political landscape treat a 9-point margin in a special election as exactly what it is: a serious warning sign for the GOP.
This is a sea change. After Jon Ossoff lost #GA06, the media, the GOP, and even many Dems sniffily dismissed it. But it was a harbinger.
To give you perspective:
If it's +4, it'd be the exact area that Karen Handel won then-GOP stronghold #GA06 by in June 2017 over Jon Ossoff.
Dems went from Minority of 24 to Majority of 23 in 2018.
And an aside, b/c I don't expect a rerun here, but one of those seats flipped?
GA06 via Lucy McBath.
As the amigo @samshirazi.bsky.social said: #TN07 could be similar to Jon Ossoff's run in 2017 in #GA06 when he lost, but he still tilled the field for that seat to flip in 2018 (and raised Ossoff's profile to the point he's now a senator).
