Ok, next level. Simulating a landslide hitting a proglacial lake, producing a #GLOF. Note that the flood is (not yet) able to erode but just spills through two channels. In reality, the displacement wave would probably incise and widen the outflow channels, triggering a more severe flood downstream.

According to the USGS, glacial lakes form in small side valleys that have lost ice.
Over time, as the ice-free basins fill with water, USGS said, lakes reach a breaking point where water pressure opens up a drain underneath the glacier that releases the water downstream, which can result in a #GLOF.
