Big old CA tree trunk was part of a hanging tree back in CA gold days. Photo is probably early spring. Cloudless blue sky above fresh CA grass before the hills get cooked to straw. Sculptural trees with and without leaves around the meadow, but that big hulk in the foreground has got some age, and its human-applied history shows it too.
It's an "old hangin' tree" in CA gold country Sierra foothills. There's a plaque about it nearby.
