American literary critic, Harold Bloom wrote, "But in the end, in the end one is alone. We are all of us alone. I mean I'm told these days we have to consider ourselves as being in society... but in the end one knows one is alone, that one lives at the heart of a solitude." #HaroldBloom

After finishing all of Shakespeare’s works a couple weeks ago, it’s time for some analytical rumination with Mr Bloom. And just found out I started this on the Bard’s bday (26 Apr.) #shakespeare #haroldbloom #bardalotry #readingcommunity #readsky

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

At the age of 19 STEPHEN KING decided he would like to write an epic similar to The Lord of the Rings. The spaghetti Westerns' of that time [specifically The Good, The Bad and the Ugly) and a poem written by Robert Browning, Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came, became the inspiration for his magnum opus.
There are seven titles in King's bestselling fantasy series and a stand-alone novel, The Wind Through the Keyhole, which takes place between the fourth and fifth.
King is the recipient of The Sunday Times Award for Literary Excellence 2022, the 2020 Audio Publishers Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2018 PEN America Literary Service Award, the 2014 National Medal of Arts, and the 2003 National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He lives in Maine, with his wife, novelist Tabitha King.

I can only say that I am glad that Harold Bloom lived long enough to hear about all the awards (and the medal) Stephen King received.
