Wed 8/13 I'm okay for today - with 8 minutes to spare thanks to a very generous friend! Please consider helping me, I have nowhere to go, nor to sleep. Every dollar helps. I need help. I'm really not well, I desperately need help with tomorrow night ($105), or a week ($450) if I can raise it. Not knowing until the last minute is incredibly stressful which in tuen worsens my health, l'm in pretty rough shape. I'm still stuck at $60, checkout is in 5 hours. I'm doing everything I can, I'm on waiting lists, but there are close to 3/4 of million people homeless in the US - an all-time high, and the primary cause is unaffordable housing. I desperately need help securing a sate place to be, l have nowhere to go. I need $45 more for a room tonight, or $390 to be safe in a room for a whole week. At least weekly prices have come back down a bit. I am very grateful for any help at all. Please consider helping if you can, and please don't if you're struggling. *Update Wednesday afternoon 7/23 I have $115 and have til Friday morning til I need to pay again. I'm hoping to raise enough money to pay for a week by Thursday evening. It's far less expensive to pay by the week, and at the moment I just have enough for Friday night. The week after this I'll have my check and can pay for a week, but I have to get to that point. a I'm exploring a possibility, looking for more, and applying for housing. We don't have record numbers of homeless people because there's plenty of help available. Unless there's a great deal online, a single night costs $100, a whole week has increased to $520 in online deals. That's for the cheapest place around, l've spent a lot of time searching. I have no options at the moment, I'm not happy that I have to beg to survive knowing how much suffering is everywhere. I feel guilty and scared, and the constant stress of begging and not knowing is taking a toll on my already shaky physical and mental health. It would be helpful to me to raise enough for a week, the daily worry is killing me - not to meantion how expensive it is. Well, it's that time again. I need $410 for another week here at the motel starting Monday - there is no place less expensive. My case manager is helping me with applying for senior housing - I can not believe it's come to that, l've aged 30 years in the past 8. I'd be very grateful for any help toward ensuring another week of safety. It pains me to ask, especially when there is so much suffering everywhere but I don't know what else I can do. Even if I could stay in a shelter there is no space anywhere. My check is gone to car insurance, this past week at the motel, phone... $1150 does not go far no matter how careful I am. I have to check out Saturday (there's a local ordinance that limits stays to 28 days) but I can come back after a day.
