It's odd that Jasper didn't kill Houseman as soon as the latter removed the iron head cage. 🤔 While Jasper's hands are still bound by iron ⛓️, couldn't he just bite Houseman & drain him to death?

In North America it is very different - there were a lot of Hausmans that anglicised. But my gut feel is that there are no more than half a dozen England originating #Houseman lines, which is super unusual for an occupational surname. Super late #AncestryHour 5/5

One married the daughter of a main line #Houseman. They came from London, but their grandparents were from similar Yorkshire villages. It's one of those where coincidences which I suspect wasn't really a coincidence. Super late #AncestryHour 3/5

Houseman family research Family research of the Houseman name of Nidderdale in Yorkshire

A wonderful person did a lot of #Houseman research a couple of decades ago (www.houseman.info) and a significant majority of those Yorkshire (and close county) census relatives can be connected. Since then I've connected in a couple of other lines via marriage. Super late #AncestryHour 2/5

That's my normal assumption. But #Houseman seems to be abnormal in that respect. By the time of the census returns your-family-history.com/surname/h/ho..., the heavy Yorkshire concentration is clear. You've given me a bit of inspiration. I've recently discovered that one of my Dad's cousins may be the keeper of a #Houseman family bible, but the only contact details anyone has is an address. I will add a scanned photo or two to the letter, but maybe not all.... #GenHour
