Lilbits: Hacking the Humane Ai Pin, Liberux NEXX Linux phone, and swearing at your Windows PC The Humane Ai Pin was supposed to be a wearable device that allowed you to interact with an AI assistant throughout the day without using your phone or computer. But when it hit the streets last year it was widely panned as an overpriced, underpowered device that largely failed to deliver on its promise. So it wasn't a huge surprise that when HP acquired the company this year, it shut down Humane's servers and effectively turned existing devices into expensive paperweights.

HP is acquiring Humane’s assets, but shutting down the Ai Pin business (and bricking existing units) The Humane Ai Pin generated a lot of buzz ahead of launch as Humane positioned it as a brand new category for mobile devices that would leverage artificial intelligence to let you perform all sorts of tasks without a phone or PC. It was a spectacular flop at launch with reviewers complaining that the product was overpriced and the core service could have just been a smartphone app.
