Obnoxious Boy 3: "Hey, Gilligan! Did you eat the Skipper?" and Tommy shifts his gaze from Michelle back to the boys yet again, and it's chef's kiss. Chris Farley giving an inspired performance all throughout this film, and it wouldn't work nearly so well without so much of the magic he, alone, provides. But he's not the only magic in this film, far from it.
We love to watch Chris Farley yell at the top of his lungs, and here we get to, as Tommy Callahan, provoked again, hollers at the three, annoying punks: "You kids better pray to the god of skinny punks that this wind doesn't pick up..."
Tommy continues, from a greater remove to re-emphasize the blocking of this boat scene: "'Cuz I'll come over there and jam an OAR up your ass!" He definitely says Jam. Shame on the terrible closed-captioning I'm using, but bad closed-captioning is better for these porpoises 🐬🐬 than no closed captioning, at all.
The boys are unimpressed: "OooooooOOOOOOOoooooooh..."
As a 'joke' or, really, a #comedic #scene that escalates satisfyingly into a climax (every good joke is like good sex, I'd argue, in any way that matters), this is structured and executed flawlessly...
