Analysis Shows Interstellar Comet 3I/Atlas Contains High Levels of Methanol Comet 3I/Atlas, the third confirmed interstellar object, is leaving the solar system but has provided astronomers with valuable data about its unusual composition. Observations using the ALMA telescope in Chile reveal that the comet's coma is heavily enriched in methanol, an alcohol commonly found in fuels, at levels up to four times higher than typical solar system comets. This makes 3I/Atlas the second most methanol-rich comet ever recorded, following C/2016 R2. Additional analyses show significant amounts of carbon dioxide, iron, and nitrogen, indicating that the comet formed in a colder, more irradiated, or chemically distinct environment than most comets in our solar system. Researchers also classify 3I/Atlas as a hyperactive comet, meaning it releases more water vapor than its surface alone would allow, with some gas coming from sublimating ice grains in the coma. This behavior explains the high methanol content and confirms that the comet is a natural, extremely cold, and chemically complex object. Currently, the comet is moving away at a speed of 60 kilometers per second. Scientists anticipate that future interstellar object discoveries will become more common as observational technology improves.

Rob McConnell Interviews - ALMA GUTHERIE - Extraterrestrials and ET Contact Alma Gutherie is known for discussing experiences she describes as contact with extraterrestrial intelligences. In conversations about Extraterrestrials and ET Contact, Gutherie explores themes such as communication with non-human beings, expanded consciousness, and humanity’s possible relationship with other forms of life in the universe. Her accounts fall within the broader tradition of contactee narratives, where individuals report encounters or exchanges with extraterrestrial entities. As with similar experiences, her claims are part of ongoing public discussion and remain a subject of personal belief, interpretation, and debate.

Took my daughter to see #Interstellar last night at the #BFI #IMAX

5 o’clock showing of a decade old movie and every single seat was filled - totally sold out.

I love that movie - and clearly I’m not the only one.

[Movie Review: Interstellar]

Just watched Interstellar for the first time. It's good and gripping. Thought provoking with only one physics howler and one other 'but that couldn't work' moment. Which is a low number for my pedantic mind.
Also, if like me all you'd previously seen of Interstellar […]
