Can we please get Blackberry phones back? I believe they sold the rights to a company that has done nothing. Canadians would support our own phones; my Blackberry Passport still works! They really do not make phones like they used to. #BringBlackberryBack #KeepItCanadian #FuckApple

Dear [MP's Name],
Re: The Cultural and Historical Legacy of the Hudson's Bay Company
I am writing to you today as a concerned Canadian and constituent to express my deep concern over the stewardship of one of Canada's most historically significant institutions-—the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC)
While its legacy is complex and, at times, deeply problematic, especially with respect to the impact on Indigenous communities, I believe it is of national importance that the historical and cultural artifacts of HBC are preserved for the public good and placed in the care of Canadians-not held by a private American entity.
The Hudson's Bay Company is one of the oldest commercial corporations in North America, and its history is deeply intertwined with the formation of Canada as a nation. Its trading posts laid the foundations for many Canadian cities and towns. At the same time, its operations were a central part of colonial expansion, resource extraction, and the displacement and exploitation of Indigenous peoples. This truth must be acknowledged, and the full story of HBC-both the contributions and the harm-should be made accessible through education and preservation.
I am calling on you, as my elected representative, to advocate for the repatriation of all historical materials, artifacts, archives, and physical heritage related to the Hudson's Bay Company. These items should not remain under the control of a foreign-owned commercial entity with no national or cultural accountability to the Canadian public or the Indigenous communities directly impacted by HBC's actions.
Instead, I propose that a national public museum be created either as a new institution or through expansion of an existing one dedicated to presenting the full, unvarnished history of the Hudson's Bay Company.
This museum should be co-curated with Indigenous leaders, historians, and scholars, ensuring that all narratives are respectfully and truthfully represented. It should be free or affordable for all Ca…

Because, just like Trump, Poilievre wants to silence media that holds him accountable while boosting outlets that cheer him on.

That’s not supporting a free press.
That’s an attack on democracy. And we’ve seen this playbook before.

If you’ve never seen this, you’re in for a treat.
If you have? It’s even better the second (or fifth) time.

From coast to coast to coast, folks are standing up to protect something that matters: A Canadian voice, for Canadian stories. Not just a broadcaster, but a piece of who we are.

Thanks to everyone who raised their voice.
We’re in this together.

Had big travel plans to the US this year. A very expensive trip to Mackinac Island and another to Bonnaroo.

Cancelled.

Instead, I got tickets to two shows in Toronto and rented a beautiful cabin for a week.

Tim Hortons rewrote Stompin' Tom Connors' "The Hockey Song" for football and the Superbowl, called "The Good Ol' Football Game". It's tone deaf to release it now. It's on the album KIC* Along With Stompin' Tom (Keep it Canadian) for Pete's sake. Did they use AI to mimic his voice? #keepitcanadian

Small things you can do to #keepitcanadian #2.

Bake your own bread. Ive been busy so this one is no-knead, just a quickie shape B4 baking.
100g active starter, 335g water, 450g unbleached flour, 10g salt. Mix, let sit overnight, covered. Bake 450f 20 min with lid, 20 without.

Grow more of your own food. I'll be substituting sprouts and microgreens for lettuce until the weather gets warmer. Sprouts just require a mason jar and a lid with cheesecloth or mesh, and a small spot on the counter.
