The cuff of a mitten-in-progress, knit in white wool as the base colour and semi-solid black/charcoal grey wool as the contrast colour. From the bottom up: a small section of 1x1 rib, then a Latvian braid (a knitting technique that carries the yarn in front and twists it around itself to create horizontal "braids" in your knitting), a colourwork section made up of squares with white centres in the middle of diamonds created by a large crosshatch pattern, then another Latvian braid.
I began my boyfriend's gift-knit. I combined three mitten patterns to create a new pattern:
- Evja for the cuff
- Kvello for the palm
- Shine Mittens for the front
Hopefully he likes them! 🧶
