The upper body of the peacock is near fully stitched-- the purple feathers having been completed on the second part of the wing-- giving it a fuller apperance. The rest of the piece is shown in full-- showing the attention to detail that was given to the light colors in the background, and the colors on the blooms in the upper left corner.
Another progress update on my cross stitch peacock! This time without my frame, so you could see all of it so far without covering it up. I'm so, so happy with how it's coming along, and this is still only the top half! This is easily the biggest one I've done to date.

‘Join Me On a Journey with No Beginning and No End’ was my first attempt at an entirely scrap paper collage with experimental mark making and stitching onto card. I spent weeks on it, playing without expectation, at carefully paced intervals. I thoroughly enjoyed the process - which is what it was all about - and was surprised that I love the outcome too. The effect is a busy collection of colours and marks linked with drawn spirals, topography/fingerprint patterns, dots and acrylic paint applied using a small vintage woodblock stamp. Materials used: blue and white index from an old road map, lilac tissue paper, scraps of old painting experiments, kitchen paper that had been used for blotting green, yellow and purple paint from brushes, leftover purple and red coloured paper from previous uses, plain white paper with blue pen scribbles on, white acrylic paint, purple felt tip, blue fine liner pen, purple embroidery thread, and glue stick.

Tiny scraps of time/energy, discarded materials, and a desire to play are as conducive to creativity as I’d hoped!

A marmalade jar with a fabric sleeve around it. The sleeve has pockets, which have been filled with a variety of cost crafting tools, and the jar itself holds tools too large for the pockets. The fabric is printed with small dinosaurs, and a yellow bow of grosgrain ribbon marked in inches to look like a measuring tape affixes the sleeve to the neck of the jar.
Better picture of my new clay-working tools holder. I love it when I get to use one of my hobbies to improve my experience of another hobby - in this case, quilting skill to improve pottery.

An empty marmalade jar with a fat quarter of dinosaur fabric sewn into 9 pockets that surround the outside of the jar, held in place by a piece of grosgrain ribbon that I bought when I was making fabric masks for COVID. Currently holding my seam ripper as a proof of concept. It took about an hour to make.
Me: I am annoyed, I keep losing my pin tool and my trimming wires while I'm working and my hands are all mucky with clay.

A gloriously stripey warp in purple, burgundy, yellow, and orange. It is pictured in closeup on an inkle loom.
The results of that warp when woven - 3/4" wide band in two distinct patterns. One is a gradient from yellow through each colour on both sides, and the other is a purple/yellow chain on a yellow ground. It has a purple weft and a small purple edge on one side, with a slightly thicker purple edge on the other side of the band.
Some people will never understand the incredible sense of satisfaction these two pictures bring to me, and that's ok.
I don't understand the allure of sportsball or loud concerts or racetracks or reality TV, and that's ok as well.
Not gonna yuck your yum, just gonna lean into mine.

About a third of a light to dark grey gradient crochet shawl. The shawl uses lots of puff stitch clusters and has lots of texture and layering from front- and back-post stitches. Above the shawl is a small, scruffily wound ball of pale grey yarn. On the right is a bright red and white Prym ergonomic 3.5 mm crochet hook. The project sits on a softly lit, shadow mottled white background and casts a stark shadow on the surface.
I'm making progress! I'm approaching the end of the first pattern repeat, I think. 🧶
