Watching S2 of #LightandMagic and it still astounds me how much of modern filmmaking and filmmaking technology has hinged on George Lucas and ILM developing Star Wars. It’s not hyperbole to say he’s probably the most influential filmmaker of his generation. Highly recommend.
I’ve been learning Da Vinci Resolve and that’s everyone’s problem now.

George Lucas couldve pushed a use of both cgi AND practical effects to be the future. Cuz of him, he couldve made the future of practical be where it could evolve. Maybe give the Jim Henson company to do even more shit!

In one of these new episodes, he told one of the workers there (So sorry for not remembering his name) that they needed to learn how to work cgi. Fucker, cgi & digital became the future cuz YOU forced it to be the future.

I'm glad #LightAndMagic took time to address Jar Jar. I was one of those fans who disliked the character and thought it was racist.
I'm devastated to hear Ahmed discuss his near suicide attempt. I remember hearing about how depressed he was, but to hear him speak. Heartbreaking I was part of that.

The #LightAndMagic documentary series is back, and while you might think it’s just a fluff piece about the ILM visual effects company. However in the second episode it simply stops and lets Ahmed Best tell how his vile treatment from toxic fans almost drove him to suicide, it is truly affecting.

#LightAndMagic Season 2 #DisneyPlus 4/5. Telling the story how the artists pushed the boundaries for the #StarWars Prequel Trilogy & reflect on the negative criticism of the films was a good reason for this documentary series to return. The closure of the old studio was a shame.
