Today is Oral Mucositis (OM) Awareness Day. OM is an often unseen but painful side effect of cancer treatment where large patches of sores appear all over the mouth & sometimes throat. Current #SuppOnc often fails to meet patient needs

Side effects and long-term effects of cancer treatment have long been minimized for those surviving cancer! The phrase "manageable & tolerable" is misleading. Just because a side effect doesn't land us in the hospital doesn't mean it's tolerable.
