Happy I saw #MerrilyWeRollAlong & happy it was on screen not Bway, even only 4 “free” 2nd ½ , as chars discuss. Tale of young “old friends” navigating NYC stage/screen/life in reverse (77-57) is full of enjoyable but IMO unremarkable tunes. Wish film had intermission, as play did. [X post: 12/12/25]

All of the designers and tech crew should sue the producers of the #proshot of #MerrilyWeRollAlong. Theatre is so much more than just the actors and the near constant close ups that never allowed us to see the staging or set or lighting absolutely lessened the experience of the show.
I saw #MerrilyWeRollAlong at the movie theater last night and loved it just as much as I did when I saw it 2x on Broadway. I do wish it had a different film Director though because some of the close up shots were too close. If the ensemble is singing or talking, I want to see a wide shot of them.
Merrily We Roll Along Charlie, Frank, and Mary are singing together as Old Friends in a New York apartment. 5 Stars Phenomenal!
