#MorbidMarch Let's talk about vampire femurs! (Spoiled because it's a bone with a stake) These ones are from France.

Vampire femurs exist because of a vampire panic during the Middle Ages. Killing with iron was rare. Where vampires were typically hunted with silver and wooden stakes, iron -

The property was cursed after the patriarch failed to meet his end of a sinister bargain. Not satisfied with sacrifices made to satiate an angry god, the land opened its hungry maw around the property and swallowed it whole.
The tree hasn't seen anything grow there in quite some time.

Iron is a common repellant in folklore to ward away fairies & wicked spirits. I use it in The Witch of Eden Hollow!
The witch MC Elias can't touch iron. It burns him. He is immortal, but getting struck by an iron weapon would be certain death.
The MC Avery can't touch it either. 🤔

Come on Charlie, let's go visit grandpa Jones. Charlie's tail started wagging.

Later that day, while Susanna and grandpa Jones were sat on the porch, Charlie dug up the remains of a small child.

Oh I remember that... You told mama he fell from the apple tree

Only a waste ground remains where the house once stood, so steeped in horror that not even grass grows there. Just the old tree, its bark permanently blackened by soot, holds the memory of happier days and recalls the deaths and the fire that tried to hide them.

They will come out soon, once the ball is over and the fog thickens. When the night grows cold and dark as the grave and the moon hides itself so as not to shed light on the wrongs. They will come out to celebrate the anniversary of their death... and they will do so by hunting.

I'm going to take a stand and pick a movie: The Others, by A. Amenábar. F*ing brilliant. #MorbidMarch

"In the silence of the night, the house seems to beat and breathe, like a living thing. A low-frequency infrasonic pulse, like those sounds that only animals perceive. The silent roars of undercurrents and storms. Black noise."

When its umbellifers were in full bloom, the tree saw the red stain on those white petals. Not long after that, it felt the heat of the nearby fire on its branches.
The elder's bark is furrowed. Memories nestle there. And also an inscription - a name hatefully scrawled out.

Perhaps a bit basic as choices... but I do love The Others and The Shining. I love how the decor of the interiors is such an integral part of each story.

Trying to catch up. It's been a pretty chaotic week. That must be Stephen King's 'The Shining'. That hotel lost in the middle of nowhere still gives me the creeps #MorbidMarch

#MorbidMarch It watched as fire consumed wooden bones, the people fleeing with smoke trailing off of their clothes and hair. It witnessed the screams of those stuck inside. It lords over the ashes now, protecting the souls that were left to wander the grounds aimlessly. It lives where they can't.

#MorbidMarch In #TFTNG, one of the oldest living vampires known is a Spanish Alphosine (vampiric wolf shifter, per the world's lore) that is over 1,800 years old. He tends to take the "exhausted mentor" seat, and is quite fond of werewolves. He's a very dangerous character but also very chill, lol!

#MorbidMarch #day12 #revel

Susanna loved this part best. The hunt. The tease. The switch. She was revelling in it so much more now Steve was dead. She didn't have to share or let him watch. Steve used to revel in it too, but then after one stud brought her to orgasm three times in under 20 mins..

Because the #revel precedes the hunt.
Over a century ago, the men of the Yager family got drunk and rowdy and hunted anyone out after dark. The victims were taken back to the homestead, carved up like deer…nothing wasted.
When the Hunter’s Moon rises, the shades of those men still ride.

Happy ghosts have nothing to mourn, no moment they wish they could go back to or change. Instead, they are immersing themselves in pleasures of the flesh and senses that should long have become defunct for them. Joie de vivre is something they can only have by seizing it. From whom?

#MorbidMarch The house has been empty for decades. The sickness that rendered it hollow had stricken and killed all of the revelers in a single night; the morning met with sunken pallor and broken bones, dead eyes and lost souls. Rumor has it that if you're in the house when the revelry — (1/2)
