Dubious Tiger Moth. Moths of North Carolina. This is a fluffy white moth sitting on a windshield. You can see the fall leaves on a tree above reflected in the glass. The moth is white with black or dark brown spots that form a pattern on its wings. At what looks like the head or top, we see two things that look like fluffy antenna.
The detail is amazing.
This beauty hitched a ride on my windshield last week.

Very bright pink flower with lots of curled petals. I think this is a dahlia or a chrysanthemum. The center of the flower has a yellow red hue and the outer edges are purpley red. It's full and gorgeous and blooming mid-october in North Carolina. This picture shows a bunch of these flowers clustered together.

Small white squirrel sits in the woods. We see him in profile. His tail is fluffy and curly and curls like an S over his back. His head looks a little like a rat with its round black eye and pointy ears. But because he is bright, white, clean and alert, he's kind of cute.
This little thing pops! in our Fall colors. Looks like he just took a bath. He may also look like a child left a toy in the woods, but Nooo. There are a few places in the U.S. that have white squirrels and we live in one of them. Western North Carolina.

Gray brown leaves and stones on the ground are the perfect hiding place for a tiny gray spotted frog. The little frog is in the center of the photo nestled into a dried gray leaf.
I should make this into a jigsaw puzzle.
Hiding in plain sight. Not much bigger than a quarter. Sitting perfectly still once I spotted it. My dog paid no attention.

Reminds me of mushrooms you would serve with steak.
