A pale green two toned vintage Singer sewing machine. A 319k for those interested. She’s from the early 60’s iirc and styled like a vintage car. She has a wooden base and a fold out flap, but more importantly she has a good solid built and the ability to sew through everything from chiffon to light armoured vehicles (theoretically).
The machine I got for my MOH was similar but in coffee tones and dated a bit later to fit within the time period that her dad worked at the factory. She loved it.
It is #NationalSewingMachineDay
So an ode to my own dear machine. She was a gift from my husband - I spotted her while looking for a machine to gift my Matron of Honour whose dad worked at the Kilbowie factory. I watched forlorn as somebody else got the winning bid - that somebody being the hubs. 🥰
