I think it is important to remember that oceans have no boundaries. When OSPAR makes a pivotal decision to ban scrubber wash it affects oceans everywhere. The waters are all connected, they all benefit when toxic pollution is decreased, even if it is thousands of miles away.

🌊 A win for marine protection: At the #OSPAR Ministerial meeting last week, the EU and 15 governments have agreed to ban scrubber discharges in North-East Atlantic ports and waters—the first regional #scrubbers ban, and a milestone in tackling shipping pollution.

Do i have followers that are into #picking #litter and familiar with #Ospar to register what they found on the beach?
Perhaps surprisingly, the EU (Commission & Parliament) opposes #DeepSeaMining, despite recently adopting a Critical Raw Materials Act to diversify supply chains, & is concerned that #Norway has breached the UN #HighSeasTreaty, #ParisAgreement & #OSPAR Convention.
