Greener practice, better outcomes involves helping people recognise the benefits of sustainability for our health.
That's why I've been working on an OT intervention programme which includes the topic 'Protecting our Environment'.
It's the right time for this.

Occupational Therapy Week. How Occupational Therapy is making a difference. “I completed a joint visit with another occupational therapist recently. I was completing walking practise towards the toilet so that the patient could access the toilet with his wife safely. He held the OT’s hand and expressed his gratitude as occupational therapy boosted his self-confidence in walking and engagement in his rehabilitation again. I was surprised with this comment as this patient is difficult to deal with due to variable cognitive and behaviour issues. This simple comment affirms the importance of everyone’s role within the stroke team and how we can make a difference in our patient’s life.”

Occupational therapists play a vital role in keeping people independent.

Their proactive, person-centred approach helps prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, supports recovery at home, and limits the need for long-term care.

Happy #OTWeek25 to our amazing OTs! 💙
