This is an extremely remote location in Eastern Oregon called the Pillars of Rome. I love this ancient landscape. I almost never encounter other people out here and it’s easy to imagine you’ve been transported to prehistoric times. Great place to look for cool rocks and fossils.

I arrived early. The strip of fog across the ridge drew my attention. Had to take pics! 🙂Later that day, the temp reached 52 and it stayed sunny. It was terrific being able to comfortably walk in fine weather again.

Taken with a phone. No other exif information is available. The snowmen melted away before noon Saturday. But isn't everything here today, gone tomorrow? Unless you take a picture of it! :)
This pic was taken by a friend, and I liked it so much I processed it for her. The idea of someone making small snowmen and placing them on the railing at the Overlook pleases me. The world is not yet lost when this kind of thing happens.

I was at the overlook yesterday around noon and took this pic. Now that the leaves are gone you can really see the river. Wonderful day for a walk in the woods; no wind! The air had a bite but wasn't unduly cold.
