The gutter between pages 8 and 9 to An Introduction to Old French, William W. Kibler, MLA Press, 1984. The passage is about the phonology of Old French. Though the text notes that the -ent at the end of third person plural nouns (Modern French example, parlent) was not pronounced, I had a high school classmate who could be guaranteed to pronounce the –nt.

Just a quick question here: who the fuck puts page numbers in the gutter? Is there noting in the MLA Style Guide about this? (It's an MLA book.) #PageDesign #OldFrench
