M35 (aka the Shoe Buckle Cluster) sits in the constellation Gemini at around 2.7K-2.9K light years away. It probably isn’t the most interesting object in the Messier catalog but I really love the array of star color in my image overall.

More commonly known as IC1805, the Heart Nebula strikes more than a passing resemblance to a recognizable Valentine's Day symbol. At the center of the nebula, an open cluster of stars emanates radiation that ionizes nearby Hydrogen gas, causing it to glow a deep red.
