ALMA Maps Cold Gas Filaments in the Milky Way’s Central Region Astronomers using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) have created the most detailed image yet of the Milky Way's central region, known as the Central Molecular Zone (CMZ).
