Sojourner rover, a small robotic vehicle, explores the Martian surface near a large, two-toned rock nicknamed "Yogi." The rock's contrasting colors are believed to be due to wind-blown dust accumulation. The Pathfinder lander is in the background. This image depicts the extended mission phase of the Pathfinder mission.

A black and white image of Yogi Rock, a large boulder on Mars, taken by the Imager for Mars Pathfinder (IMP) on Sol 3. The rock is situated in a lighter-colored, moat-like terrain, possibly indicating past water activity. The surrounding area is strewn with smaller rocks and pebbles. The Sojourner rover is studying Yogi Rock closely.

Monochrome image of the Mars Sojourner rover on the Martian surface shortly after its deployment from the Pathfinder lander. The six-wheeled rover is shown having successfully descended the deployment ramp and is resting on the Martian soil. The rover's solar panel is clearly visible, along with its tracks and a portion of the ramp is in the lower left of the image. The Martian terrain appears rocky and dusty.
