A PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile is a pattern of behavior associated with autism, characterized by an intense need for autonomy and control, leading to an extreme resistance to demands, requests, and expectations. Individuals with PDA may go to great lengths to avoid tasks, even if they want to do them, often by creating distractions, making excuses, or using social strategies. This can be triggered by anxiety and a highly sensitive nervous system that perceives demands as threats, potentially leading to meltdowns or panic attacks
Most ironically, when it comes to how they negligently &or evasively respond to requests-demands arising out of #ClergyMisconduct. . . many #UnitarianUniversalists, inc. top-level #UUA leaders & #UUAclergy, seem to suffer from #PathologicalDemandAvoidance.

My personal perspective: Us autistics do have a tendency to get upset when being told what to do - The crossover with #PathologicalDemandAvoidance ( #PDA) is real. I think the takeaway message, however, is that calm, understanding, and love are the paths forward. Thanks for following, my NDs! 9/9
