The Kingfisher Pond at Stony Brook W.S. in Norfolk, Massachusetts was covered with a layer of ice. I had walked to the pond not long after sunrise on a cold and mostly cloudy morning, and saw holes in the clouds that spilled bright light onto the surface of the ice, creating a pretty scene.
I went for a chilly walk shortly after sunrise and though the skies were cloudy, there were breaks in the clouds that spilled vibrant light across the icy pond. So pretty! 🤩🔆

I think that white smudge in the distance is an immature Little Blue Heron. There were a couple moving around the pond, along with some regulars like an Anhinga, a Belted Kingfisher, and a Black-crowned Night Heron.
