Humans matter. ALL humans. What most people understand as 'normal' is based on a worldview of a select number of people. It is often flawed and based on made-up (!) science and is deeply rooted in discrimination and bias. The speaker challenged to speak up, support those who are silenced, and be quiet when you don't know what you are talking about. Small acts of dissent with likeminded people can create change, because "snowflakes create avalanches". Hands down one of the most inspirational talks of the day!
What people meaning find in a talk is more important that what meaning you think you are delivering. Hopefully they align.
Users make meaning.
