A photo of the skull in a display case at Colchester Castle alongside a "griffin" egg. The skull has a curved beak at the front, a high nostril, a small eye socket in the middle, and a relatively short bony frill projecting up and back. There are also some teeth at the back of the jaws and the lower jaw is deep. The skull bone is ochre whereas the base of the case is green.
There are only a few days left to see this cast of a skull of #Protoceratops which is currently on display at #ColchesterCastle. The original specimen comes from the Late Cretaceous of Mongolia. It belonged to a quadrupedal plant-eating dinosaur.
