Anyone have any creative tips for dealing with an absurd number of players in a ttrpg?
I'm still trying to find someone to run a second table, but i may have 16 (grade school - adult) for a class thing I'm doing.
Short sessions (~30-45 min). Fate Core/Condensed.

Great #dnd session tonight - first game since early december due to sickness & weather. Not a lot of action, but some nice building momentum to the narrative.
Planning to continue next week to keep it going.

I'd also say make sure it makes some sort of sense for where they're finding it.
I hand-pick stuff a lot, but sometimes doing some random rolls can come up with things I wouldn't have thought of.

Best part of last night’s #dnd session was wife’s character using her ability to speak abyssal & limited knowledge of the situation to intimidate a cult leader.
Not at all her character’s forte, but a brilliant move in a desperate situation - pulled off w/ a little inspiration.

I generally do this, but
1) I'll have common utility items (i.e., healing potions) available in most of these places
2) If there is an obvious gap/need in PC gear, I'll add something relevant to that as well

Also, a corollary: the players should know that there are no "wrong" choices - their decisions affect what follows, but no matter what, the game will go on.
This frees up the players to choose the paths they think will be the most fun rather than worrying about "doing it right".

Opinion question for the #ttrpg / #rpgchat folks:
Regarding various sidequests/subplots PCs in a given campaign invariably get into, is it more fun if:
A) All of them tie back into the main foci of the game.
or
B) Some of them are just "other things going on" in the setting.
