It’s time to demand better transparency and accessibility in tech products. Interested to hear from people with similar experiences with Ring pushing unnecessary purchases instead of fixing necessary safety issues.

It’s critical that battery notifications are sent especially for people with safety concerns/issues. This practice directly puts customers at risk.
Companies should prioritize safety and transparency over upselling.

The screenshot is a picture of the in-app from Ring, showing settings for recording length. Title setting.: recording length. Description underneath: control when this device stops recording after motion is detected. There is a blue caption underneath that says: if your device is not wired, choose 30 seconds or less to maintain battery life. There is a setting underneath that says "record for" and the time on the right side is set to 60 seconds. Then a pop-up comes up saying: ''want nonstop power? Try adding a solar panel. Just a few hours of sunlight every day will keep your stick up. Cam charged. Shop now."

The empty battery notification that was once available is gone, leaving clients without critical warning. When clicking for more info, it recommends buying extra products instead of honoring the recording length.
What’s up with that?

Ring users pay for subscriptions yet get little to no control their safety.
Why let users pick video lengths if they don’t honor them?
Time for transparency, accountability, and safer products.

Settings are limited unless you upgrade/purchase to solar/wired Ring hardware.
No low battery alerts unless you upgrade.
 That's a major security risk.
Are companies allowed to withhold basic safety features behind extra purchases? #EthicalShopping #SecurityMatters#RingFail

I’m not looking for apologies.
I’m reporting this because NO ONE should have to pay for accessibility.
Because accessibility rights are NOT optional.
Ring & Amazon can do better. And must!! #EUConsumerRights #AmazonWatch #RingWatch #WeDemandAnswers #RingFail
