The House will also be voting on #SB486, which is yet another bathroom bill targeting trans people (also unconstitutional).

#SB290 will get its final sign off from the Senate today.

MORE great news: Earlier today, the House Agriculture committee passed an AMENDED version of #SB290. It leaves protections for the Buffalo River and Maumelle watersheds in place.

It's still not the best bill in the world, giving legislators powers that are better given to experts, but it's a WIN.

Nothing confirmed yet, but two developments:

First, it seems that #SB354 won't be heard today. Rumors of dealmaking abound, but members are so far being told it won't be today.

Second, rumblings that #SB290, the Buffalo bill, WON'T be heard on the House floor and that sponsors pulled it.

Here are the House Ag votes (our count) to pass #SB290, which would remove the ability of experts to impose limited moratoriums on watersheds to protect them against extreme pollution.

You know: our drinking water.

The chair broke the tie.

The bill will head to the House floor, likely tomorrow.

Happening now: #SB290 up in House Agriculture. Another full audience as people have sat around ALL DAY to speak against this terrible bill. It would remove protections for watersheds across the state.

Rep. Vaught claiming that no current moratoriums would be removed.

#SB290, the watershed moratorium bill, has passed the Senate. 22 Yays, 9 Nays, 1 NV, 1 Present, 2 on leave.

It heads to the House, but time is running short. They'll have to move fast if they want to get this through, and rumors of a veto still hover over it.

Here’s the vote by which #SB290, the Buffalo River bill, cleared the Senate earlier this afternoon. The measure now heads to House Ag.

Already a rough day in the legislature: Sullivan’s bid to defund the State Library passed senate state agencies and Blake Johnson managed to get #SB290 out of Senate Ag.

Good morning.

#SB290 got amended on the Senate floor yesterday afternoon and could be heard in Senate Ag this morning.

#SB354, the $750 million appropriation to help build a 3,000-bed prison in Franklin County, is on today's Senate budget calendar.

In a win for the Buffalo National River, #SB290 was moved to the deferred list last night. #SB290 would remove the state's ability to impose moratoriums in watersheds, thereby opening them up to pollution of all sorts.

The earliest this bill can be heard is April 1. Sigh of relief!

For those tracking #SB290, the chair of Senate Ag moved the bill to the deferred list after today's committee hearing. That means it can't run Thursday. Next week's the spring break recess. The earliest it could be heard now is Tuesday, April 1.

Johnson pulls it down, and we're adjourned.

#SB290 lives to fight another, but there will be some amendments.

SB281 fails.

And we're now to #SB290.

He claims that this is just adding a process; there's "no justification for the public to say that moratoriums would no longer be in place." Says it's just a legislative checkoff.

Hickey with a question.

Sen. Johnson just arrived; Sen. Gilmore just pulled Dismang out of the room for a moment. As a reminder, if #SB290 doesn't run today, it'll go on the deferred list and we'll get a two-day heads up before it comes back.

Starting with a bill from Sen. Penzo.

Good morning Arkansas! We're posted up a bit early in Senate Ag, where, at long last, it's game day for #SB290 (the new version of #SB84).

In general, the bill prevents state agencies from issuing moratoriums against Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in watersheds.

Senate Ag is set to take up #SB290 at 9:00 this morning. It's my understanding the sponsor plans to present an amendment to the bill.

If you can't make it to the Capitol, you can watch at www.arkleg.state.ar.us.

Gonna be a day in Senate Ag tomorrow. Committee’s meeting an hour earlier than normal—at 9:00a—and expectations are that #SB290 will finally run.

Being your slop buckets and oars.

I sense a shift in communication strategy coming from those opposed to #SB290 and #SB84, the Buffalo River bills. Getting a lot of nice texts from folks, either asking me to vote against 290 or thanking me for my opposition to the bill. Short, sweet, and I'm guaranteed to see them. #ARpx

Five hundred seventy-five emails and counting (give or take) in opposition to #HB1564, a bill to restrict motor vehicle racing here in Arkansas. This session, only #SB84 and #SB290, the Buffalo River bills, have generated more emails in opposition.

Well. I’ve still probably received more emails and calls regarding #SB84 and #SB290, but #HB1564 is catching up fast.

I've only received about a couple hundred emails opposed to #SB290. Literally nonstop at the moment.

Good morning.

– It's Home School Day at the Capitol.

– Senate Ed revisits #HB1180 this morning.

– Those worried about #SB84 should look at #SB290.

– Still can't believe the Mavs traded Luka.
