Good morning Arkansas! We're posted up a bit early in Senate Ag, where, at long last, it's game day for #SB290 (the new version of #SB84).
In general, the bill prevents state agencies from issuing moratoriums against Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) in watersheds.
I sense a shift in communication strategy coming from those opposed to #SB290 and #SB84, the Buffalo River bills. Getting a lot of nice texts from folks, either asking me to vote against 290 or thanking me for my opposition to the bill. Short, sweet, and I'm guaranteed to see them. #ARpx
Five hundred seventy-five emails and counting (give or take) in opposition to #HB1564, a bill to restrict motor vehicle racing here in Arkansas. This session, only #SB84 and #SB290, the Buffalo River bills, have generated more emails in opposition.
Well. I’ve still probably received more emails and calls regarding #SB84 and #SB290, but #HB1564 is catching up fast.
Good morning.
– It's Home School Day at the Capitol.

Good morning.
– Senate Ag meets at 10:00a, but #SB84, now on the deferred list, won't run.
– Also at 10:00a: Senate State Agencies could consider several bills aimed at making it harder for citizen-led initiatives to make the ballot.
– Joint Retirement meets upon adjournment of both chambers.
For those tracking #SB84, the Buffalo River bill, the item is now on Senate Ag's deferred list, meaning the bill won't run at Tuesday's hearing.
For the committee to hear the bill now, the sponsor will have to give notification.
Fair question. I asked our committee about this at Tuesday’s hearing. We were told the sponsor’s working on an amendment. I asked again at today’s meeting. My understanding is that if #SB84 doesn’t run Tuesday, we’ll put it on the deferred list.
Good morning.
– The Senate takes up #HB1204 this morning.
– The House will consider #HB1180, the "Baby Olivia" bill, this afternoon.

Senate Ag meets tomorrow at 10:00a. There are just two bills on the agenda: #SB84 and #SB146.
I know 146 will run. I don’t know at this time if 84 will.
Good morning.
Again, for those tracking #SB84 (the Buffalo River bill), Senate Ag's not meeting this morning—so there won't be a Senate Ag meeting till next Tuesday (and whether we meet then will depend on the agenda).
Should be a quiet day on the Senate floor.
Five hundred and thirty-three—
—is how many emails I've received about #SB84, and I *think* I just now managed to finish replies to all of them.
The Buffalo River, man. Gets people fired up.
For those tracking #SB84, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development won't meet this week.
