The latest amendment to #STOPCSAM, which again, is broadly speaking a great bill, provides for Civil remedy for "Any person who is a victim of the intentional or knowing promotion" of their CSAM. That standard is WAY above the norm in most civil tort law.

I'm late to the game on this, but I've recently discovered that the #STOPCSAM act, which we @counteringcrime.bsky.social otherwise support, now has provisions that would make it near impossible for #CSAM survivors to sue tech companies in civil court. I wonder whose lobbyists got them added? Hmm! 🤔
