Judging by this pic, and my vague memories from when I worked at the #SamGoody fer when he was popular, this screenshot is....thirty years old...? At least....?
And though they look quite different side by side, I c'n see why you'd mix the two up, ad they were popular at roughly the same time.
I shit you not, when I worked fer the #SamGoody an eternity ago, a girl came running up t'the counter, all excited, and practically shouted at me, "What's this song?? It goes, 'hmmmm' (<--- she just...hummed sumthin at me)", & she just stood there looking at me expectantly as if I'd have an answer.
Talking about old record stores, I found this little gem at an antique store.

I kid you not, when I worked at #SamGoody, someone came up t'me one day and said, "What song is this??", hummed ONE NOTE, and expected me t'know what the fuck she was talking about. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Ok but thank you fer remembering that #Suncoast existed; the first #SamGoody I worked at was on #UniversalCityWalk, so since we were a #FlagshipStore, we had both under one roof. It was alotta fun fer a while.

FYE's parent company is sunsetting the Sam Goody brand amid mass store closings. The Ohio Valley Mall location, still reflecting tastes of the 1980s, will close February 23rd after 43 years in the mall.
