Daytime scene on a cloudy, but warm afternoon just before spring in a seafaring City, facing a section of the City's downtown Seaport neighborhood from a pier; running across the screen, a lavender-painted bridge hides its expressway traffic with the subtle and peaceful pastel color; surrounding the scene, large buildings- made mostly of brick - have been repurposed from shipping-related structures to high-end office and shopping spaces; in the background stands (arguably) the City's ugliest skyscraper building - the Verizon building; they spent a lot of money on a makeover and it is still ugly; in the distance, however, the peak of a Classical Revival landmark - the Thurgood Marshall Federal Court building - pokes out from the shorter buildings around it; there is a long, green, plywood construction wall in the foreground; I can't remember what they are actually building there (hopefully a park), but the safety wall has become a canvas for the City's graffiti writers and features several large-scale throw-ups.
