Our Cross Party Green-Labour-Soc Dem group had our third bill, the Domestic Violence (Amendment) Bill, pass Committee stage in the #Seanad this evening. The bill, first introduced by my colleague Vincent P Martin, seeks top strengthen protections for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.

It’s unacceptable that over 100,000 properties are lying empty across the country when so many people are desperate for a home. Today, with my colleagues in the Cross Party #Seanad group, I launched my first piece of legislation as a Senator - my Dereliction and Building Regeneration Bill.

Martin Conway has resigned from the Fine Gael parliamentary party. He has not, as of yet resigned from the #Seanad

He was also the subject of a complaint of misconduct. Why was he allowed to stand for election to #Seanad ?

Commiserations to Cllr @hazelchu.bsky.social , who very narrowly missed out on taking a seat in the #Trinity #Seanad panel election today after a recount. With @smytho.bsky.social, Greens in the race picked up 16% of the vote - by far the party's highest yet.

Ruane elected on 11th. 12th will transfer 366 surplus.
Clonan is on 96% of quota
McCarthy 52%
MacNeill 48%
Chu 46%
Smyth 44%

There is 117 votes between Smyth & Chu. Chu is 252 back from McCarthy who is in the final chair currently.

And we have our first elected for TCD. Ruane over the top on O'Neill's transfers.

Ruane picked up 407 or 29%.
Smyth 22%, Chu 19%, Clonan 13%, with the expected drop down to McCarthy 8% and MacNeill 4%.
So next is 356 transfers or 8% of quota from Ruane.

Closing the gap between Chu and MacNeill, 41% of quota to 50% of quota. Ruane is 51 votes short of the quota.

Mullins elected, and Higgins elected short of quota on 8th count.
Two were eliminated and put Mullins over the top, next two plus the surplus can't catch Higgins so NUI #Seanad is done #SpéirGorm

De Brun's vote went 5% to two Greens, 3% to Zappone, 8% Labour, 9% Ruanne, 13% MacNeill, 18% McCarthy, 28% to Coonan, and finally 15% wasn't transferred.

The Coonan transfer does surprise me.

Zappone's 1039 next up to be transferred, which is 23% of a quota.
