I leave all my seeds to dry in the garden, unless they're developing fungal infects from bad weather.
Shiraz peas selection 2025. Top is Master seeds I'm about to grow out again. Middles seeds get shared around the community Bottom seeds go in the compost. We don't want these.

Tomato Seedsaving. You can save tomato seed from any tomato, however hybrid/F1, F2 tomatoes won't produce true to type. Heritage/heirloom tomato seed will reproduce true to type. Minimum number of plants for healthy gene diversity: 1. Squeeze tomato pulp into a jar, and label with date and variety. Add around 1/4, to 1/2 cup of water. Let jar sit out of direct light for a week or so, or until a bit of mold forms on the surface of the water. Scoop off the surface mold, pulp, and floating (non viable) seed. Pour remaining water/seed thats sitting at the bottom of the jar through a seive and rinse under cold water until residue is cleaned off. Sit seeds on grease proof or nonstick (labelled) paper, or a plate or shell and allow to dry out. Store in a paper envelope in cool, dark area until Spring.

Watching The Rings of Power, S2E2. I see a handful of seeds tossed to the ground. Carrots? Dill? Parsley? Parsnip? Probably not parsnip - not quite the right shape. It's the the main chick and she is in front of her brother tree, so probably not planting veggies.
