Water moves slowly across yellow sandstone on Dartmoor.

Water moves slowly across yellow sandstone on Dartmoor.

Same slow water, same old rocks, same old Dartmoor.

Cooling down on a hot day.

Framed on the left by dark rich forest soil with green and yellow leaves on the upper and lower left, and on the right by a single sun-dappled tree standing out in the forest, a waterfall cascades from a ridge at the upper third center, flowing over three stone ridges down to the left, then two more stone ridges back to the right. With a slow shutter speed, the water appears like sheer white cloth draped over the rocks. The slow shutter speed also shows blurred movement in some of the leaves in the upper and lower portions of the image.

Thanks, Olga! I hope you like WAW. I'm not sure if it's actually "done" by exec order. It can be a bit complex to get water where it can infiltrate. But CA gov over the last 5 years or so has gotten way more serious about #slowwater groundwater storage, so I see this as another positive sign.

Nature stores water underground. There, plants can access it, helping them stay hydrated and be less flammable. It supplies water to streams and rivers in the dry season, providing year-round water, supporting many forms of life, including humans. #slowwater @wadecrowfoot.bsky.social

Have you seen #SlowWater from @ericagies.bsky.social ?
It gives me hope!!

It looks like our only chance for survival is to put the pedal to the metal & rev up ALL LIFE around the ENTIRE PLANET.
That way, when a % of our efforts fail, the other % will survive & help sustain us!!

Sea levels are rising not just due to melting ice. Pumping groundwater and rushing surface water off the land is a significant contributor. Recharging depleted aquifers via #slowwater projects could slow the rate of sea-level rise by as much as half, says Dr. Warren Wood. rdcu.be/d5ouG
