In today's #SmallJoy I saw a vid sharing facts I didn't know about chickadees/winter survival: namely their hippocampus is huge, which allows them to remember the locations of seed caches, they can lower their core body temp to save energy, & recognize people who feed them.

I put up a bird feeder in the thicket behind my house a few days before the heavy snow.
