I saw a reel about #SoldAStory. It’s basically about how kids were/are being taught to read and if the programs are effective in making kids good readers.
Don’t know how, but my tendency to have brief moments of hypochondria when I learn new things has me wondering if I learned to read properly. 🤭

I just finished listening to this latest episode of #SoldAStory by @ehanford and it was one of the best stories.
But there is still one question that continues to haunt me- why aren’t we training teachers in these evidence-based practices in initial Teacher Training programs?

#SoldaStory by #APMreports is such a satisfying podcast. Excellent research, narrative arc, audio engineering, etc. Finally listening to Ep 9, and starting to think… maybe the Reading Recovery people ‘feel too evil.’ When my gut feels this certain, I’m missing some nuance. 🚩 Still thinking on it.

The amount of damage Calkins, Fountas and Pinell’s curriculum has caused is immeasurable.
