First frogspawn spawn of the year in the front garden. Mr Frog has been keeping me awake with his croaking all week! South facing tiny pond so will keep an eye.
Can't find the original PondDip #spawnsurvey account so have logged my sighting with freshwaterhabitats.org.uk/waternet/spa...

1min of frantic froggie fornication from today. I put a security camera by the pond so I could see what they're up to. What a perv! There are easily 30+ of them at it, and a lot of the heads are just the ♂️ as the poor ♀️ is giving him a piggy back. #wildlifefrommywindow #ukgarden #frogs #spawnsurvey
A close up photo of a fresh clump of frog spawn, mostly submerged above a bed of egg sized pebbles that are a mixture of light browns and greens. The protective jelly is only a slightly larger than the center of the egg, I think as it's freshly laid. The background is of the surface of the pond, reflecting out of focus vegetation and a light brown trellis.
Went to spy on the pond and the water looked like it was boiling with the number of 🐸. Sure enough, the first fresh clump of spawn was there! Latest date of the last 5yrs due to recent 🥶?

Gosh the #Frogspawn is early in my pond this year. Last two year's I've not seen it until 3 March, yet here it is on 12 February.
A lovely big healthy clump, though rather close to the edge where Corvids are likely to hunt.
