I am shameless and brazen! Now, which book to promote...

The YA light sci-fi mystery where status is measured by knowledge rather than money, or the cozy mystery with a queer neurodivergent female MC working in tech...

Maybe I don't have enough spoons for this kind of dilemma!

Ah, no. I’m too introverted & am set in my writing ways. If it works for others? Great. Ikke for meg.😉 #SpoonieAuthChat

Alas, no. But it’s something I’d like to do someday, even if I have to create the retreat myself!

I have never been on a writers' retreat. A few fellow handmade business entrepreneurs and I did a very interesting weekend camping getaway, though.

No but, I'd love to someday. I'm curious about them. I honestly could probably use one to get out of my creative block #SpoonieAuthChat

I haven’t! I’ve been to many conferences but never a retreat! #SpoonieAuthChat

I HAVE been to a writer's retreat, in Hawaii, no less.

But it wasn't what I hoped it would be. I ended up really frustrated and disappointed. (Not about the Hawaii part)

This is true! Also, body shenanigans needs to be used more in Spoonie conversations!

Oh, I love the term stim-walks! #SpoonieAuthChat

I find I’m the same. I often say to myself, “Walk away, walk away!” when I’m stuck. Even if it’s just a metaphorical walking away. #SpoonieAuthChat

I take a nap, a walk, clean, meditate, paint…basically something else & it usually resolves itself when I’m not thinking about it. #SpoonieAuthChat

I am very set in my ways of where I write, so changing venues doesn't do it for me.

That said, swapping to a new story or essay or giving myself permission to do something else creative tends to work.

#SpoonieAuthChat no, but switching tasks can, often in the form of another creative task. I also go on stim-walks to dream up anything new.

When you're stuck, do you change location to see if inspiration will hit?

#SpoonieAuthChat I mentioned in my Omega Squad blog post (pinned btw if you wanna read it) that I wrote most of it on my phone because of body shenanigans, and that's really become my go-to. Typing on a laptop is hard when you're horizontal but phones can go everywhere 😅

I used to write anywhere and everywhere, and always dragged pen and binder with me. I still do, though I've gone digital.

But, I have an office these days, and just going up the stairs and close my office door behind me, helps met get into a work headspace.

I'm usually curled up on our couch & ottoman with a lap desk pillow creature that's for crocheting but I use for my computer, and my pupper next to me. I can technically write anywhere, but many spots make me uncomfy real fast, which messes with my flow state. Couch=best.

I mostly write at my desk, but I use a laptop so I can work on the couch, in a coffee shop, or while I'm in a waiting room somewhere if needed! (I'm also that guy who writes in restaurants alone) #SpoonieAuthChat

I wrote my very first novel everywhere: couch, bed, paratransit, train, while getting an insulin resistance test.

What am I even like???

These days, I write on my iPad or in my office. #SpoonieAuthChat

How do you like your back chair? #SpoonieAuthChat

I feel this about allergies. I sometimes feel my province has two seasons: Cold and Achoo. #SpoonieAuthChat

Usually at my desk, but also in bed or on the couch. I have a ball chair at my desk
