A punctured tiger beetle on the ground. The beetle is just right of the photo's center and is wandering around amid what appears to be sand and pieces of sticks. The beetle is mostly brown in color, but there are some metallic green spots on its head, thorax, legs, and wings. Its eyes are on the side of its head and appear to be bronze. It has a pair of long antennae which also have a bit of metallic green in them. The wings have a number of white spots on them

A white-lined sphinx moth at the top of a flower, facing upwards. It is a large moth and has so many markings it is hard to describe. It looks furry and its basic color is brown. There are white stripes coming from the head down to the end of the thorax, The abdomen has two vertical brown lines going all the way down. In the middle of those it is black but with vertical white dashes, getting smaller toward the tail. On its side are alternating brown and white stripes, again getting small toward the tail. Its wings are wide open. Those are also mostly brown, but each has a long white horizontal line stretching across the center. Above and below the line it is brown with small white dashes. At the bottom of the wings, next to the body, is a large pink spot. The antennae are long with a white tip at the end. It is surrounded by blurred green leaves.
